Everything here runs on your Mac. millfolio indexes a folder of your own documents, extracts the transactions inside them, and lets you ask questions and organize them with tags — your data never leaving the machine.

The docs follow the order you'll actually work in — first get your data into the vault, then shape it with tags:

• Populating your vault — point mill index at a folder of statements and exports; millfolio builds a local index and pulls out the transactions.
• Tags — organize the vault with keyword tags, AI tags, and tag groups, all from one editable text file.
• Tag backfill — how AI tags get applied to transactions you already indexed, filled in quietly in the background.
